Shopping in Brasilia
Brasilia has 15 American-style malls. Whether it is overkill or not is a personal judgment, but it provides for many shopping opportunities. A big shopping hub is in the centeraround the bus station. On the south side is the Conjunto Nacional (in the SCS area). This was the first shopping mall in Brasilia, built in 1971. On the north side (SCN) lies the Conjunta Venancio, which isn't as large.

Another excellent shopping center is Park Shopping, though located on the outskirts of the city (about a 14 dollar cab ride from downtown.)

The large crafts market (Feira de Artesanato da Toree de Televisao) is located right under the TV Towerand offers a wide range of crafts from the northeast region. It is open every weekend from 8 am to 6 pm.
The Galeria dos Estados has crafts from all across the Brazilian states. It is located in the subway connecting the Setor Bancario Sul with the Setor Comercial Sul.
