Events on Carnival Sunday

Sambadrome during the Carnival Sunday marks the beginning of the legendary Samba Parade at the Sambodrome. All will gather here to see the Samba Schools perform, complete with music, costumes, and floats. Join in more Carnival balls, grooving to the many melodies of music. The streets continue to populated with performances of all kinds.

Samba Parade*
The parade on Sunday showcases the best Samba schools of the city.

Location: Sambadromo
Start:: 9am - 6am

Rave Party*
This party held at Terra Escantada, a theme park located in Barra da Tijuca, includes dancing and music as well as roller coasters and other amusement park attractions.


Carnaval Ball at Scala*
These balls are for the not-so-formal featuring live music and samba dancing. More

Start: 11pm

Gay Ball at Le Boy*
Le Boy is a Copacabana dance club complete with music and dance floor. The crowd is filled with both homosexuals and heterosexuals moving between house music and samba while dressed in costume and other outrageous attire. More

Celebrations Continue
Performances including music, dance, and merriment continue on the streets of Rio de Janeiro.

Location: Rio Folio and Terreirao do Samba (Near Arcos do Lapa and Cathedral Metropolitana)
